Hampton electrical maintenance reported a copper theft at the William's Sub and Switching Station yesterday at 9:56 a.m. After cutting a hole in the west fence, thieves removed ground wiring from the fence, breakers, switches and the microwave tower. The Electrical Superintendent says, "We don't know when it happened but it had to be within the last month, between our regular monthly substation inspections." No power outage occurred and nobody was hurt. Crews repaired the station damage and made final permanent fence repairs. The Hamilton County Sherriff's office was notified and additional patrols have been added.
